'[A] good lesson for him:' Entire team calls out ‘sick’ after one coworker is forced to come in unwell, now the boss is covering the entire senior staff the week before Christmas

Did you ever think that maybe something that is not a big deal to you is a big deal to someone else? Maybe that's something you should respect. That's kind of an obvious train of thought to most people. However, to most upper management, it must seem like gibberish because, apparently, they are the masters of the universe and whatever they say must be the end-all-say-all… Why are so many managers and bosses like this?

An instance of upper management gaslighting something that is a big deal to other employees was recently posted to Reddit. One employee kept coming into the office very obviously sick, coughing up a lung, constantly sneezing, etc. When the employees begged her to go home, she refused, so they asked the boss to enforce their protection against her sickness, and he too, refused saying, "it's not a big deal." WELP, it turns out it was because she got the vid and she spread it to six other coworkers. OP tried to get it into the manager's head that this was a big mess up and he needs to enforce making obviously sick people wfh, especially when it's getting close to a big travel weekend. Still, the manager refused to think he did anything wrong. So you know what the employees did? They ALL called in sick. Were they all sick? No, but the ones who weren't didn't want to get sick either! So now the boss is working all alone the week before Christmas break. Dumb choices garner dumb results. That's just facts…
